Dr. Navpreet Gill, PT, DPT

Hello!  You can call me "Nav," and it's truly my pleasure being your PT today.  Whether you're here because you or a loved one are in pain or suffering from weakness or falls, whether you're wanting advice on your current workout regiment, or are getting care/treatment but are having a difficult time understanding what you're doing or why, or whether you're wanting to know what your imaging reports mean, I'm here to help.

A warning though!  I'm a sports fanatic and may blame your team choice for your pain😊

My Story

When people ask me why I chose to become a PT, I always tell them, "It wasn't me who chose Physical Therapy, but rather Physical Therapy who chose me."  Every metaphorical door that shouldn't have opened, did, and I found myself in and then graduating as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) at the prestigious University of Southern California (USC).  Seeing how much my unique background and way of thinking (my background was in engineering and biochemistry) allowed me to see and help people, I never looked back.  Ever since, I've been helping the people of California, Arizona, and even abroad, manage and even eliminate their pain/symptoms, get in shape, reduce their risk of falling, walk again, understand their medical conditions, and truly live life or simply get through a work day more comfortably again.

I always put so much pride and care into all my work.  But when I realized through my own and others' experiences that there's been a huge shift away from the "Care" in "Healthcare," I decided to open my own practice and provide the care that I would want for my own family.  An MD, if you can get in to see one, may only be able to see you for a couple minutes, often never lay a hand on you, and then send you to a PT at a typical "Factory-Type" PT clinic where you will likely see the PT for a minute and then be sent off to work with a Tech and get the same set of generic exercises as given to another patient.

At Navigate PT and Wellness, you get to work with me, Nav, a Doctor of Physical Therapy.  There isn't another patient you're sharing your time with, all of my attention is yours, and focused on helping you achieve your goals.  I can give you the care and quality of treatment that I give my own mother and father, and in your own home or gym, with what you have available, so that you can continue the treatments once I'm gone.

At Navigate PT and Wellness, I'm putting the "Care" back in "Healthcare."

My Promise to You

  • I will always try my best to help you meet your goals

    • to me, it doesn't matter if a muscle is stronger, if it can't help you do what you wanted to do

    • if you ever have a difficult time seeing how what we're doing is going to help you get to your goals, please ask me!  If I were in your shoes, I'd want to know too!

  • I will never take advantage of you and the trust you have given me

    • Although you may have heard patients call me a miracle worker, I truly am not.  I will try, but I can't fix everything.  I will never lead you on to think there will be success, if I don't see it.

    • There may be times when I come to evaluate you or your loved one, and I tell you after doing my assessment that the goals you are wanting to achieve are not goals that I can help you with.  I love a challenge, but I want you to trust that I am reasonable.  I will not promise you something that I do not believe I have the ability to help you achieve.

  • I will always tell you the truth

    • I'm not one to sugarcoat.  I will never tell you you did an exercise well if you didn't.  I will never tell you you're making progress towards your goals if I don't believe that to be true.

My Expectations of You

  • I would never push you beyond what I think you can do.  But if you feel like we're getting close to that point, or if something is hurting, you have to let me know.  There is a time for "No pain, no gain" and there are times when we're shooting for no pain.

  • I expect you to put in as much effort, if not more, as the effort I will put in for you.  I often come home and do more research to ensure I'm targeting the right muscles in the best way possible.  I'm always thinking of ways to help you, so I expect just as much effort and hard work from you.

  • I am someone's daughter too.  I expect to be treated with the respect and decency that I will show you.

  • Safety is my #1 priority, and I expect you to look out for my safety too.  Please make sure your homes are clean and safe for me to be there.  If you're sick, please cancel or reschedule your appointment.  I have elderly parents, and elderly and/or immunocompromised patients/clients.  Please don't get me sick.

  • If something comes up, out of respect for my time and yours, please call or text me as soon as possible so that I don't begin driving to your location.  Gas is expensive and car maintenance and repairs aren't cheap.  So, please call to cancel or reschedule as soon as possible.  I'm not going to charge you to cancel, but I will charge you if I show up and you changed your mind or aren't present.
